America has NOT been in Iraq for five years.
America has been in Iraq for one year, five times.
No demands for sacrifice on the part of the military to keep fighting until it's over, one way or the other, no demands on the military to insist on it, or mutiny. And a weak and confused idealogical leadership in the White House. A useless waste of lives and treasure.
No demand on the American citizens to support war to it's fullest or get the hell out of it. But plenty of demands and obligations on our children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

With nothing but to bear it, grit
One´s teeth, do you suppose.
Ah, Russia has been growing scared
Just like Sparta before--
US expansion has prepared
The backdrop for new war.
O do elect whomever you´ll,
My fellow citizens;
The office holder, while no fool
Will have to start from hence.
His is a slanted playing field
To start with--so the task go
To hold rooks to the board, nor yield
In spite of the fiasco.
