Don't Burn Books - Shoot Them
This is typical of the American gun nut. A guy is running for the school superintendant of Oklahoma --- Oklahoma? --- Of course, he is one of the smarter ones.
His platform. Children can be protected by crazed gunmen by books. And since he is a scientist he has to test his idea by blowing up a whole bunch of ammo.
What I found amusing was his first victim was a calculus book. Bad choice. That has to be the densest object known to mankind.

Do we ban sharp-pointed knives as well, like they're trying to do in England?
Never could understand the mentality of "getting rid of private gun ownership = nobody gets hurt". Take away all "weapons", and we still have rocks, tree limbs, and bare fists at our disposal... and we can't ban those harm-delivery systems... or can we?
Can't coat people with Nerf material, so they don't get bumps and bruises, either. Just as silly as trying to pass laws to protect ourselves from... ourselves (drug laws, for instance).
Not defending this Oklahoma guy's point, just poking at the folly of micromanaging the lives of law-abiding Americans. Something BOTH parties do, by the way.
